Not to sound like a prick but how could an oil clean off intake valves that it never touches?Do we have any reason to think this will help clean carbon off intake valves on GDI engines?

This was AutoZone.
38.99.. Same as most other syns there.Did you happen to get the price?
It may be the greatest oil ever, but 27 five-star reviews (the oldest of which is 7 days ago) seems weird. How does one evaluate an oil in seven days? "Runs good?"Here it is on Valvoline website:

Yes, they did have a big social media influencer push for this so you're probably correct.Pretty sure those are staged reviews by social media influencers, it even shows a stamp at the bottom of the review saying influenster.com. Probably take a few weeks before they show up retail.
Those are very good points. I think the breakthrough they are claiming comes likely from the additive side (just guessing). Sounds impressive for what it is.This is just a guess on my part as this is so new but....
Given what we know so far, including price, i think the "secret sauce" is in the add pack but also the carrier oil for it(10%), which is some kind of ester. This could work out well as it would work slowly instead of the rush method. ...keep in mind that Valvoline is telling you to use it continuously over several OCI. It would also be convenient as most people out there change their oil once a year along with the filter, use one oil and don't want to deal with adding anything, especially since many products out there are (very) doubtful.
..basically the same as using 4 quarts of whatever shelf brand oil and 1 quart of a product that actually does work.
If it had, lets say, 20-30% ester in the base oil, it would cost a little over twice as much and not too many people out there would buy it.
