Really?Amsoil signature series is also likely group3 mostly.
You making this up?
Got any basis for your opinion?

He didn’t start the claim. You’re the one claiming that it’s group 3. So you should be the one providing proofDo you have documentation to show otherwise?
I said likely. Do some research, I am not going to be citing any threads I read.He didn’t start the claim. You’re the one claiming that it’s group 3. So you should be the one providing proof
Don’t say stuff if you don’t have the means to prove itI said likely. Do some research, I am not going to be citing any threads I read.
I will ask your permission next timeDon’t say stuff if you don’t have the means to prove it
Or just back up what you claim. That would be better.I will ask your permission next time

Well for one thing their posted technical data sheet seems like it would be highly unlikely....

How so? Does it list how much group 4 they use? Wouldnt someone say that “final product is what matters, not the base oil”?
Interestingly, from the SDS you posted, it doesn't appear to primarily be Group III either. If we assume both PAO and GIII are both at the top of the range provided, that's still only 60%, so what's making up the remaining 20-30%? POE?I did not say anything about quality or AMSOIL Signature Series. It might be a great product, but likely not predominantly group4.
The esp formula is made in France and is the better oil but I don’t think they are importing it to the US anymore. If you can get it in Canada, stock up.Originally Posted by Virtus_Probi

That's correct, the original Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 Formula had an HTHS value of 3.58, that's what I'm using in my Corvette right now (and I've got 4 more oil changes worth, and have been going to different Canadian Tire locations buying it up as they have it on clearance right now) The new formulation is simply called 5w30 ESP and has an HTHS value of 3.5.
I'm just not sure which of the two formulas is actually better. The original formula has a super low sulfated ash level of 0.6% (I can't think of another oil this low) vs 0.8% for the new formula. It also has been reported to have a NOACK of 5.6%, the new formula is unknown there.
But there is one thing about the new formula I do like, it's viscosity at 40c is 62.6 cst, vs 72.8 cst for the old formula. So the new formula might be a bit better on a cold start.
Could be, I saw on oil-club.ru they did spectral analysis and saw some ethers.Interestingly, from the SDS you posted, it doesn't appear to primarily be Group III either. Yes, ester content was what I was thinking. That would make a very good portion of the base oil blend IV/V, with a good-sized chunk of Group III in there as well. Of course this is all wild speculation, but it's an interesting thought.Could be, I saw on oil-club.ru they did spectral analysis and saw some ethers.
