Amazing used car find

But will anyone actually want it... I see these type cars in my area (North GA) and they just don't bring any money. Not enough for me to risk getting a bad one. I guess if you KNOW it's got no major problems, but even then the guy wanting to buy it from you has to assume the worst.

I look for used cars every few years. Just did a search back in May and picked up a 2001 Lincoln with 39K miles. I only wish it were $800...lol. Had I run across the OP's car for up to $2500 I'd have jumped on it. These cars just don't fall apart with low miles because "they're old."

Best part is it sold for 800 bucks! An amazing deal on a garaged, well maintained car. I bet we get 3 grand or so for it....

Do you have a limit on how many cars you can "flip" in your state before you are considered a "Dealer"?

I think the limit here is 7 cars a year before you become a dealer? It may also be different if you can tie it to your business. Maybe that is outdated info.

Any running car in good shape down here is worth some money - a whole family could live in that car. About 3 years ago, I had to really search to find someone a creampuff '05 LeSabre with similar miles for less than $6K. Unfortunately, that car needed the gaskets and valve covers done as well as some other stuff. The single previous owner kept up on oil changes and other obvious maintenance, but never touched the coolant or brake fluid. It was a mess, but after putting a little time and money into it, it has been relatively troublefree for about 100K additional miles so far - aside from the window motors, an alternator, A/C leak, etc. All-in-all, I think the total outlay so far has been just over $8K, which is great considering it is driven every single day - a little over 30K miles a year.

What cracks me up is that I had an '89 Oldsmobile 98 Touring Sedan in the late 80's (well - in '89), the Buick drives exactly the same, but with some additional body roll. If feels the same, sounds the same, it doesn't look as good (I preferred the straight lines of the older models).

LOL the times I bought a car to resell I ended up keeping it (my 2000 Mustang GT daily driver) or giving it away (my sister got a decent 1998 Mustang GT for free because she always wanted one but couldn't afford it). That's the fun of it, though. I just like to tinker with stuff. I guess it could be worse. I know guys with 20K in just the engine on a race car.

I had a U-body Silhouette van snag its ABS wire on a ball joint stud and pull it out of the wheel bearing.

I had a cavalier metal-fatigue its ABS wire and cause internal separation, right at the connector. Said connector was a pretty universal weather-pack type I could scrounge from the junkyard.

You got this.

PS in my state the limit is 5/year, but if you own a car 6+ months, it's exempt from this count.
