Aluminum foil as over spray shield from brakleen?

Brake parts cleaner won't melt it, right? seems like it should work to fold over on under hood plastic and rubber. Not completely sure so want some opinions. Thanks.

Won't do anything except clean any grease off it. Plenty of parts around brakes are aluminum and get sprayed on a daily with no harm.

if you use wheel cleaner you might be in trouble as some of those are acidic, but brake cleaner is essentially solvents which don't harm metals.

By the way, Brakleen makes both Chlorinated and non-chorinated products, but no, I haven’t seen anything on them being damaging to aluminum.

Why are you using brake cleaner under the hood?

Trying to remove some stuck old VC gasket residue from the cylinder head surface. razor blade alone isn't working without possibility of gashing the flat. I'm not planning to spray full blast on it but just a trickle and want to wrap it around a very close vacuum hose.

My point is, brake fluid gets on aluminum all the time. Doesn't matter if it is foil, a casting, or a machined part. It isn't going to hurt it.
