At least it still has something that sorta looks like a bumper.

I like the new design. It would be on my short list if I was in the market.
As for the tablet, after a few days driving it, it would blend right in.

Yep.

Notice they took away the non-Ecoboost 3.5L v6. And I can't stand manufacturers that have their screens as if you stood up your tablet in the dash. It completely ruins the lines and flow of the interior design.

A big nope from me.

I agree - RAM did a great job with their large screen in the new pickups. Looks much better than this Ford. I still think Ford has a way to go with their interiors. GM as well but I, personally, think AUDI is the best in interiors followed by RAM upper trim pickups.

I like it and if it is RWD and 4WIS that's going to drive better … maybe not only a better AWD system but one that can be serviced … Wait, and the engine does not ride side saddle ?

Made in Illinois?

This is an Explorer...

I just need it to do another 250K, or two.

I want the Jurassic Park 1993 Explorer. Was one of my favorite vehicles as a kid.

Not what a big truck seller worries all day about. Doubt you would enjoy max towing in mid sized SUV's … I know folks that didn't and bought bigger rigs for the RV they were stuck with …

Hard to find an Explorer around here that's not parked alongside an F150/250/350 … (or Duramax/HD Ram)

I don't like the front lights and I think that screen in the middle of the dash looks like an after thought like they glued an iPad there because they forgot about it in the original design.

No thanks and certainly not for what they are charging for this vehicle.

The portrait screen is optional … there are other shots on the web with landscape gps screen part of the dash …

I second that. All the floating infotainment displays look like someone thought about it late in the development process and they fudged it in there. That's not just a Ford thing either. Other than that it's a very nice design.

If unibody - what's it based off of? The Ranger and Everest are full frame.

Supposedly it's Ford's new "flexible" RWD platform - unibody and supposedly will go from small CUV's to Full Size (I guess this is Fullsize) to Mustang.

Looks like they glued an Ipad to the dash.

I still think all the manufacturers are placing bets with each other to see who can sell the ugliest SUV.

I think it looks great, and the interior is a big step up. Except for that screen... As others have said I really had the "stuck on" look of the tablets. A few co-workers have Teslas with the giant screens in them. But they sit lower, and look like they belong even being huge. Mazda/Mercedes screens are just awful.

$32,765 to start.

Less than a Ranger? Wow. That's some real role reversal for those two names.

Ranger starts at $24,300

That's good news. I read a few articles that said it started at $40k. Seems I've forgotten over time how wildly inaccurate initial reporting can be.

The trend is towards bigger and more tablet like screens but that design of Ford does look like an afterthought. I wonder why they didn't mount it landscape?

You do realize that this is much bigger than a CRV, right? CR-V competes with the Escape. The new Escape will be unveiled soon.

Maybe they are the kind of jerks to take viral videos vertical instead of widescreen.
