My '00 Civic EX (~125k) and '03 Saab 9-5 Aero (~45k) had been on a regimen of Techron Concentrate every 5k or so. I'd followed that routine with my old Saturn, which ran great with no fuel issues until I got rid of it at 185k.

Just for s's and giggles I decided to try out fuel power, see how it works. I ordered 2 gallons a bit over a month ago. Each car gets ~18k/year, so I should have a year's supply for both of 'em. The cost works out similar to what a year's supply of Techron would run.

The Civic had gotten a bottle of Techron just before the fuel power arrived, so it went right to the 1 oz/5 gal dose. The Saab had gone 2,500 miles since the last Techron treatment, so I gave it the 2 oz/5 gal dose initially, then went down to 1 oz/5 gal. I just keep the stuff at the house, and either throw it in prior to a 1/4 mile trip to the gas station to fill up, or I put it in after the fill up. I use the dispensing bottle they supplied and a long skinny funnel. It's a bit of a PITA, but not too bad. An improvment would be if they had a Sta-bil style bottle with a long filler neck and refillable resevior.

I do not keep a detailed record of the mileage for either car. The Saab has a computer that tells you the running average.

I haven't noticed anything different with the Civic. It runs like it used to, can't say if the mileage has changed.

There has been a noticeable improvement with the Saab. Previously, when driving around and applying the gas from idle, there was a noticeable stumble. The response was smooth from one throttle position to another, but if you were stepping on the gas after coasting, there was a shuddering from the engine. Now with the FP, that seems to be gone. I can't be 100% sure the FP is what stopped it, but that's the only change that's been made. The mileage may have gone up by ~ 1 mpg as well, the computer seems to be floating around between 27-28 mpg. Previously it had been in the 26-27 range. Again, can't necessarily attribute this to the FP.

So there you have it. Make of it what you will!

where do you pour this FP stuff? i might have to try some of this, their website isnt so simple like some other website.. i mihgt like to give this a try later on

Minor detail right?

It's a gas additive, goes right into the tank. The trick is, you only put 2 or 3 oz (for small to normal sized cars) in at a time, and it comes in a gallon (128 oz) jug. So you've got to measure out that small amount, and pour it in the tank. Not exactly the hardest thing in the world to do, but it's not quite as convenient as say cracking open a bottle of Techron and dumping the whole thing in.

I began using FP60 in July, and I just started LC20. Both products improved my engine smoothness, especially LC20! The FP60 definitely boosted my mileage though; we'll see about the LC later.

With the FP, I was up about a 2 mpg average from the previous summer, and now I'm up about 1.5 mpg from last winter. I use Excel to figure all that out for me; I'm not just spitting out numbers here.

I have been running FP and LC for over 2 years now ..about 6 months ago I bough a jug of FP for my moms 88 honda accord LXI ( in immaculat condition) she tracks the gas milage always on this car ...when she travel from Tacoma WA to Grants Pass ,OR to visit my brother she knows exactly how much gas it takes. Over the last 10 years of making this trp she stops just outide of Salem OR I believe and she gases up and gets lunch ..she always gets 31mpg ..after installing FP for a month and running the trip she got ....35 MPG ...the car has 195,000 miles on it! ..she os making the trip again next week for the first time in 6 months with this car ..so we will see if it was just a freeky occorance ...will post the results

I have noticed the exact same thing using FP60 in my Audi 1.8T. Is that Saab a turbo? I wonder if FP is particularly suited to turbo engines???

V1-

I agree but ES300 was smooth before but it seems even more smoother now!

My MPG have stayed the same but it is winter (MA) here and I do idle the car a few minutes at 5 am.

So far I am very happy with it.

Maybe this is unrelated, but I sometimes get a similar feel in my Subaru, which has a TSB out saying that is from the torque converter being locked up and a bit of shudder from the backlash in the drivetrain.

I haven't tracked the mileage in my '95 Civic in a couple of months since my computer's OS self-sabotaged but using FP60 may have ever-so-slightly improved it. Pretty hard to get better than 40 MPG overall but it's quite consistent.

One thing the FP60 has certainly done is somehow cause the engine to run extremely smooth, almost unbelievably so.

FP60 and LC20 IMO are outstanding products. ARX is also but that's for another thread.

Does FP60 actually clean the Intake Valves & injectors?

Does anybody have ACTUAL photos of FP cleaning intake valves or piston tops?

I know my 87 Volvo 745 Turbo is up about 1 mpg on the highway with the FP60. I got 30.12 mpg on a 400 mile round trip to Ohio on Friday. That also included a maintenance dose of Auto-Rx and running four snow tires.
BTW that 30.12 mpg is unheard of in a Volvo 740 Turbo. Most RWD Volvo Turbo owners are seeing at the most 25 to 26 mpg.
The car has been modified for gas mileage and more power(Saab APC 14psi).

Magoo, very good question.

When I change the spark plugs in my car this summer, I'm going to borescope my cylinders to see for myself. My exhaust has remained completely soot-free. So, to me, that's a good sign.

Also, I'm trying a strong dose of FP60 in my 2-cycle snowblower. They piston head was very gunky when I started.

greenjp, if you want a more convenient way to pour the FP60, use a Techron bottle and just flip your FP bottle upside down and measure the amount. Then it's a lot easier to pour than using a funnel and having to clean it up. In my Civic it doesn't seem to have that much affect on the gas mileage maybe 1mpg more but that's about it. It does make it run smoother like others have said though.

I used Chevron Techron for the last 5 years and now I am using FP60 for a 1998 Civic EX.

It still gets 38 miles per gallon on the highway and I'm sure that FP60 helps keep the fuel system clean. I recently made a non stop road trip from Jacksonville FL all the way to Miami FL on 1 tank of gas.

Is that all? How small is the gas tank?
My 745 Turbo wagon (15.8 gal)can easily make it from Naples to Brunswick Ga. With the 960 and it's 21 gallon tank I can make it up just north of Savanna before refueling. The 960 is a pig on gas as far as I'm concerned.
I thought Corvettes got in the high 20's on the highway?

Gas tank is 11.9 gallons for this Civic, I could have made it all the way to Homestead/FL City if I really pushed it. LOL. Thats almost the entire state of FL.

A 6 speed Corvette will get 30 MPG on the Highway in 6th gear. Not bad for if ya ask me.
