This is the last thing I thought of when I bought a case of 12 ACDelco PF63E's for a Silverado with the 6.2L V8 L87. Long story short, I sold the Silverado after just one oil change (for my 6.7 Cummins powered Ram,) and now I have a case of 11 of these PF63E oil filters left over. I have one Motorcraft FL-500S filter left for my wife's Navigator with the high-output 3.5L EcoBoost V6 so I went to look at RockAuto to look at getting some more and it turns out, they say the PF63 will also fit. I'm only running 5k OCI's because the 5w-30 is shearing down to a 20 weight, so long OCI's are not a concern. (Gonna ditch my M1 Truck and SUV and try Triax 5w-30 SRT next).
I have read where the PF63E's have a 22psi bypass pressure rating as opposed to PF63's 12psi, but I cannot confirm this. It also sounds like the PF63E's superseded the PF63's so I don't really know what all is going on there.
It sounds like Ford was wanting a higher bypass pressure value in the high teens on these EcoBoost motors anyways, so my question to the forum is, are these brand new PF6E's a comparable oil filter for my Wife's Navigator? I'm thinking they are but am curious as to others opinions.
