I know this is probably a very silly question, but I just want to be sure and ask the "pros", haha.

I will buying two cases of PP 0W-20 offline (roughly $5.56 a quart shipped I believe it came out to be).

Now I have a bottle of M1 0W-20 I used for my last oil change (which is 4.3 quarts, so I bought five and only used a little of the fifth one), and plan to use 4 quarts PP to the half quart of M1 to use it up.

Would this be fine? I know it's such a little amount and they are the same viscosity so it should be fine, I just want to make sure there is something I don't know!

Appreciate the help guys!

NO, you should only use one brand of oil in your engine at a time, if at all possible.

The Mobil 1 can be the emergency quart you carry in the trunk. You can also use it if you ever do a short interval or a flush or something.

Dude i mixed 5 different oil, dino and synthetic from 30w to a 40w + MMO+ STP and car runs absolutely fine.

Sticking with one brand of oil is always best at each OC. However mixing in a different brand to use up the last qt of a batch shouldn't hurt anything. I've done it a few times in an old beater w/o issue.

I usually buy a case at a time (6 qts) but our crankcase only holds 5 qts. I too often have that extra quart left over. Been adding that extra quart as make-up for a while now to my 12K+ OCI with no problems.

I say "Go for it!"

Yes you can mix them. You can also mix Conventional with Synthetic. Other than slighly altering the overall formulation it will not hurt anything.

No problems at all.

Take care, Bill

no worries on adding a different brand.

General consensus is to "try" and use same brands of oil, but if not you wont cause any ill effects
