Now the ACTUAL ballistics expert will chime in and offer some words.
There are some DOOZIES in this thread. And I mean DOOZIES.
If anyone has ever attended an autopsy of a person that has been shot and killed with Winchester Ranger T 127 +p+, raise your hand. (bubbatime raises his hand)
This round is the hammer of thor. It likely has more one stop shots attributed to it than any other round. I have actually interviewed officers that have used this round on people and they were 1000% impressed with its performance. There are still agencies that use this round, quite effectively.
Some jello shooting self proclaimed Youtube experts scream jacket separation, must be garbage, and the Fudds eat it up.
This is a VERY good round, that works against humans, when fired from service size pistols. Period. End of discussion.
I have probably a hundred pages of data on this round and there is no data to support that this is a substandard round. Yes it is an older design. But it is a good round.
I have cases of the stuff, so I don't need any more, nor would I buy any today, if I needed ammo.
My 2019 defensive ammo consist of HST, Gold Dots, and if on a budget, 9BPLE. I get HST or Gold Dots for $23-24/box of 50, and wont spend more than that on defensive ammo. I buy ammo by the case.
