This truck was my grandfathers and just became mine.

I'd pick up a bottle of Amsoil engine flush for $6.00 (or a pint of LC20), along with a new oil filter. Change just the filter and run the engine in neutral at 2x the normal idle speed for 30 minutes, then change the oil/filter again. I think this engine has some sludge/varnish/carbon residue and you are stirring some of this stuff up. I've had excellent results with the Amsoil flush in situations like this....

The other thing I'd do is check the air filter and intake system (PVC and vacuum lines) for leaks. A silicon level of 13 ppm after 2500 miles is elevated, as are the past two analyses....

TeeDub - thanks for the advice, I have some LC here so I might try that. It just scares me a little to flush an engine that runs perfect though. I think Id rather do it over time. I will check the pcv and air filter, most likely the pcv is original.
