One should run far away....very fast from those motors, unless you want to spend big dollars making them right before you head down the road.....
If you do the work yourself, Probably closer to $5,000 in parts......Assuming the Injectors, HPOP, ICP, & IPR are in good shape.
Oil Cooler relocate.
EGR Cooler delete.
ARP studs & OE head gaskets.
Injector re-seal kit.
Billet water pump.
Upgraded FICM power supply.
New SCT fitting, Stand Pipes, Dummy Plugs.
Thermostat.
Tuning Software for the EGR delete.
There are cheaper routes, Like.......Replacing the oil cooler with a Ford part, Flushing the cooling system REALLY well & keep a close eye on the Coolant-Oil temperature delta. Deleting the EGR Cooler will take some of the thermal load off the cooling system.
Blocking the EGR helped lower coolant temps on my Duramax at max GCWR!
And remember: in many places, doing the "deletes" means you can no longer actually register the truck!
