Yes, Auto Zone will test it, charge it, pro rate it, make it do flips in the air, summer salts, roll it down a hill,.....ANYTHING to shake up the sulfation, hold a charge & pass a B.S. test..,,, and give it back to you......Rather than just give you a new one like Walmart would. Get the Maxx when the time comes. The CCA's are higher. Good for cold NY & NJ winters. Easier on the starter too Worn out batteries are the leading cause of " starter death" and " alternator death"

Always have had good luck with the WalMart battaries....

The picture is wrong. The battery pictured also has "pencil post" terminals not standard ones.

My wife's CRV takes a 51r. I have the EverStart Maxx bookmarked. I also have what is called a EverStart Platinum (Boxed) bookmarked which is also a 51r but it says it doesn't fit the vehicle.

Looking at pics, the terminals are on the opposite side. I would think that a 51r is the same for all but this has me thrown for a loop.

Thoughts on this? Am I missing something? Probably am; I'm getting old! Maybe I've had too much to drink ma. On the other hand, maybe I haven't had enough!

BTW, this AGM looks identical to the Duralast Platinum Group Size 51R AGM but with the terminals on the correct side on the Duralast.

Yes, major sellers of that AGM battery buy from the main manufacture. The one for my Hyundai was sold as The Platinum Series at Walmart and was at a couple of major auto parts chains with their private label on them. . They looked exactly alike and the have the same "Made In Germany " sticker on them.

If you're gonna go AGM, Odyssey is the only way. They have the best reputation to withstand the cold ( all depends where you live ). I wouldn't buy an Odyssey or Optima if I lived in Alaska. Look into to it. I kid you not. An FLA will never freeze on you in the lower 48.. If I remember correctly, an FLA freezes at -78 degrees fully charged. So, I guess nobody in Alaska or Siberia uses AGM batteries. I had no clue when my Optima AGM froze on me in NY. I never knew they COULD freeze. It was only like 25 degrees outside. Battery was 2 years old. I was furious. They no cheap those things.

Now, a tutorial on the " new" sealed FLA batteries. The bean counters don't want you adding electrolyte to FLA's anymore. So, they did away with the " pop tops" over the cells. They got a looooonnng sticker running the length of the battery covering the cells. If you're battery makes it past the warranty, I suggest you do this. Peel back the sticker and remove it. You will see 12 little 1/2" diameter plugs where the cells are. Get a flathead screwdriver, and pop those puppies out. Viola !!!! The lead and what's left of the electrolyte !!!! If needed, add distilled water and make sure those plates are covered by at least a bit more than a 1/2" of water. Push the plugs back in. Put the sticker back on.( It's a really sticky sticker, so it will stick again) Throw it on a battery tender for a day to convert the water to acid. You're good for another 3 years. YAY
