Wow, sounds like a pretty darn good reason to take care of your teeth as I always thought as quoted from the above link. Family history of heart disease I do all I can to take care of myself.

The words in the link are very misleading, regarding "proved" and I quote.

"...
Still, studies have shown:

  • Gum disease (periodontitis) is associated with an increased risk of developing heart disease.
  • Poor dental health increases the risk of a bacterial infection in the blood stream, which can affect the heart valves. Oral health may be particularly important if you have artificial heart valves.
  • Tooth loss patterns are connected to coronary artery disease.
  • There is a strong connection between diabetes and cardiovascular disease and evidence that people with diabetes benefit from periodontal treatment."
Sounds like one hell of a good reason besides the obvious, to take care of your teeth and regular dental cleanings and check ups.

We use Phillips Electric Sonicare brush, works completely differently then Oral B and much more effective. You can spend under $50 for one or $150 but they do the same thing. (I highly recommend (so does my dentist *LOL*)

I always use the ones my dentist gives me at my every 6 month checkup in my care package:D
Those go straight into my gun cleaning supplies.

So, I do appreciate the freebie...

But I use a Sonicare Toothbrush, at the recommendation of my dentist... 🤷‍♂️

My dentist recommended a Sonicare years ago because I tend to press too hard with a normal toothbrush, which has eroded my gums above my top premolars. It does ok, but I don't feel like it gets the grinding surfaces of my molars as clean as a manual brush. I end up going three cycles, at least, before I feel like everything's clean. No way will I be paying $300 for an intelligent vibrator. I'd really like to find a true rotary.

Same here. Heck you pay enough to go to the dentist why not use the free toothbrush lol. I have extras too I try to alternate between two different ones in the 6 month period. Haven’t used an electric one in a long time I’m too cheap for that.

I purchased a $100 Braun electric that was Made in Germany in 2010. Still works and holds charge on original battery but a bit yucky feeling.

I am a long time Sonicare user - I'm on my 3rd. Absolutely love them and my hygienist and dentist always gives me a glowing review every 6 months during my routine cleaning and checkup. They typically last ~5 years before the battery starts getting too degraded and they start getting weak.
