Car has around 105K, OCIs 7500-10,000 depending on driving habits.
Oil used mostly Castrol Synthetic and lately Mobil 1.
Car was autocrossed quite a bit.

Looks spotless under there.

Notice the oil is almost black, its due for change in 2.5K... at a 7.5K interval.

In all my many years of using synt. oil my various engines have all looked like this as well. That's why I don't change.

Looks just like my wife's Chrysler 3.5 did when I replaced valve cover gaskets at ~200,000 miles on M1. None of that ugly yellow film often seen with Grp II oils anywhere in sight.

Clean but hows the wear - Are cams within mfg service limit and need to see under the cam box where the head is much hotter and maybe a pulled piston and look at the ring area - but if engine produces good power you can assume ring area is clean too. BTW, Those are some big rocker arms! Same engine architecture deployed in the Mini Cooper a while back, I hear.

Well its my Dad's camera and he doesn't know how to set it up right, so who knows why but its 2 years or more behind...

This was done around 2 months ago...

Looks great. I had an '05. It was a fun little car. It was very easy to maintain, and the aftermarket used to be good.

Sorry, I didnt do that - some sort of system hiccup - or my cat walked across the keyboard when I was in the bathroom ...
wink.gif
Still curious if the cam followers use an integrated lash adjuster pill - given how big the stem-end heads are on the rocker arms.
