I made an appointment to test drive a M3P at 2:40pm today for 3pm. Guy let me take it out myself. First time driving an EV.

I was really impressed with how smooth and fast it is. That instant torque and linear power is awesome. Car is insanely quick. I could be happy with this car.

Fit and finish was fine. Better than the 22 ZR2 lol. I know Teslas are not known for their great build quality but it wasn't bad. Seats were comfortable. I thought the interior was nice, although very simplistic. I kind of like that but I'd prefer a standard type dashboard with speedometer gauge etc. Those minor things are not a deal breaker for me.

I do like the dealer experience. Made an online appointment and 20 mins later I'm testing driving a car by myself.

It was 100F out when I was driving it. AC set to 70F. I floored it at least 10 times. Battery went from 70% to 68% by the end of my drive which was probably about 5-10 miles?

@Brons2 thanks for the reminder. Had you not clicked on my post from last week or so today i would have forgot to test drive one.

You can make life miserable for just about any other car on the road with a M3P. I recently replaced the P-Zero rubber with Michelin PS4S; even better!
This car is so easy to live with. The 300 mile range hits the sweet spot for many use cases. You can everyday it unlike so many other performance cars. I charge with the sun's energy, so I skip gas stations and their crazy costs...
I'm at almost 27K in just over 2 years. I'd buy another tomorrow.
One thing: be sure and check your insurance.

Can't beat that setup. (y)

The fit and finish issues Tesla is known for is either a thing of the past or I've gotten really lucky three times. I love these cars. Honestly the speedometer thing felt weird at first, but it just seems normal to me now. Instead of looking down it's just beside my normal field of view.

If I was buying right now I think this would be the one. I love the new frost blue.

Keep in mind when you first cool a hot car (or heat a cool car) it uses a lot of energy. Once the interior has reached the temp you want it takes a lot less energy. So you shouldn’t infer efficiency based on the first few minutes of driving. Unless you generally only drive two miles at a time. At which point efficiency is largely irrelevant as you’re only going two miles have like 350+ miles of range to play with.

I can't find the speedo on my other cars. Well, the Tundra is pretty simple, but the Lexi convoluted dashes get me lost. There is beauty in the Tesla simplicity.

That new color just doesn't work for me. I liked our white '18 with the chrome handles best, but the black handles spoil any light color for me. I guess I'm too old skool...

Usually I'm a white car kinda pup but that blue is def my favorite Tesla color and if I could afford a MYP in that color I'd get one. It would pair well with a Cybertruck!

I thought the speedometer would be an issue myself, but quickly got used to it.

I don’t own Tesla stock (outside of index funds) or care if you buy one but it really is a great vehicle for 95%+ use cases.

I have tires on order for my 2023 Model Y Performance. The OEMs made it 46,000, if that concerns you. Agreed with @JeffKeryk - have somewhere to charge it and check insurance rates.

I have noted that the "refresh" cars I have all looked at have what I consider standard for industry at this price point fit/finish. I am pleasantly surprised. If they put a real interior in them, I'd have a hard time saying anything bad about it. Just slap the Model S dash in there and it's G2G.
