2025 Kona 0w-20

In a non-boutique oil world and your climate, run Mobil-1 EP 5w30 or ESP 0w30.
Drain it by 4k....... that's most important. High flow OEM oil filters are what HyunKia dealerships want to see. Not mandatory by them. But it keeps the Peace there.
If you change oil every 4k, you may run that cartridge filter for 8k.... two OCIs.

The N/A 1.6 has had some issues if I'm not mistaken but`the 1.6T has apparently been 'beefed up' to handle the stresses of a turbo and I haven't heard anything bad about it.
The last one was flawless. Always ran good, UOA showed some fuel in the oil, but no wear issues in the oil due to it. Never used any oil. I’m hoping this one reciprocates.

We've seen many UOA's from 0w20 oils in turbo charged engines. Millions of vehicles use 0w20. The concern of using it is in your head. You can use a heavier oil of course, you paid for the car. But any real world benefit is also in your head.

I use 0W-20 in my Cadillac XT4 with the 2.0T motor. I'm thinking about switching to 5W-30 once the warranty is out but it seems to be doing fine for now at 22,000 miles so far.

Start out with 0w-20 P.U.P. , H.P.L. , AMSOIL or VALVOLINE R&P.. I'd think an oil with high BORON would benefit new KIA / HYUNDAI engines or others coupled with D.I.. The sooner the better .
