2025 Honda Accord Hybrid- Pick My Oil

He is going to trade it in before its first oil change. You need to load him up on 0W-20 quick.
Wow bro....
Unlike you too @KCJeep just sent me free coupons from this oil change place and I like the fact they take videos of every oil change...
Very heartwarming video ..
Who was right, who knows....enjoy

I have one free oil change with Honda...I'm passing on that..

While I understand these services are quite popular and can be trusted to handle OCI's, I'd rather skip the possibility of having a problem.
Sure, the chances of having them mess up and oil change are slim, I'd rather forgo the stress of possibly having an issue.
Besides, who doesn't enjoy the endorphin rush of doing it yourself!

I dunno, I've used some Honda Genuine I had laying around, some Amsoil SS, as well as FAR RTG, all 0W-20 grade. Currently running some Amsoil SB courtesy of a member here.
I don't think this engine is very demanding of its oil, so it probably won't much matter what you use.
I'll get the last two Amsoil runs sent off, since I took samples of both and we can see whether things look reasonable out to 8-10K.

Lets see a picture of the new Honda Accord Hybrid. Run any quality 0W20 -- PUP/M1 ESP/QSUP/etc.... Dont lose any sleep on it.

Go with the thickest 0w20, Pennzoil Ultra or Mobil 1 EP, both 8.8. Mobil 1 ESP 0w30 once you are out of warranty. But I don't think you need a 0w30. Watch your oil temperature, it might be similar to Toyota hybrids that run cool. I am suprised Honda doesn't require 0w16 on a hybrid Accord.

The Honda filters are nothing special and are likely going to cost more than the PG made ones so I see no benefits here.
Toyota OEM filter is 5 bucks, and has amazing build quality. Not the best filter but has superb built quality. I assume Honda filter is similar and OP should stick to Honda filters. For 5k OCI they will do a great job

Folks, when it comes to oil filters just stick to OEM. The company that built that engine also gave the specs to the oil filter company to build the filter for that engine. I have used different brsnd oil filters in my Toyota, but every time I use the Toyota filter it puts a smile on my face. It is such a high quality filter. It costs $5 but it doesn't feel like a $5 product.

That does not completely compute

Have you dissected many OEM marked filters? Honda as mentioned- nothing special- has been made by several companies over the years. Nothing wrong with that necessarily but the construction method and workmanship varies. FoMoCo ? Those are disasters- not all but some are really terrible internally.

Tell us exactly how and what details a car manufacturer hands off to a filter manufacturer.

Yeah if Motorcraft made all OEM filters I'd be a buyer 🤭

Just like the Denso Mitsubishi filter
Not the greatest efficency but beautiful inside and will actually work on the Accord....7317 clone

I'm at about 800 miles now. Hondas suggested break in was 600 miles.
Did a 46 mile run today mostly highway and got 79 mpg for the run
Speeds were avg at 45-55 mpg
Driving conservative but not holding up any traffic...getting off the line quicker than the other vehicles

Even with the picked EX-L for the 17" tires over the Tourings 19" tires the ride is still stiffer than the Arteon and maybe when I get to 3 or 4k miles it may soften up a bit.

On new roads it's great...but broken pavement a bit too stiff now...

Considering 5w20 or 0w20 as I have a bunch of that and 0w20 Magnatec SP

Denso makes oil filters and air filters for Toyota as well. Fantastic build quality. Don't worry about efficiency, these Jepanese companies are into something, they like their flow.
