what the heck is Toyota doing with those ridiculus looking grilles
shocked just absolutely shocked that YOU love it...would of never have guessed....Love it!
Wish I were in the market for a half-ton!
Ill likely keep my Tacoma forever, but eventually relegate it to non-DD status.
Now, I might eventually be in the market for a new generation Sequoia.
Who does either? That''s for the Dealer/Quick Lube place to worry about. The radiator/coolant is getting very close to a "lifetime situation". I mean you don't have to touch the coolant for 100,000 miles in most vehicles.Do you need a stepstool to reach the oil dipstick? Or the radiator cap for that matter....
I think it’s a version of the engine that’s been in the Lexus LS500 for a few years now.Hmm, wonder if they took the old tried and true 2GR 3.5L added forged internals and added boost. Might prove to be a reliable engine, especially if they keep the combination of direct and port injection. That said we need someone to swap that engine in a Tacoma. I'll volunteer mine
Gonna let this new design age a couple years and probably trade up to it.
Sure, the coolant maybe. But the oil disptick gets a workout on most Toyotas.Who does either? That''s for the Dealer/Quick Lube place to worry about. The radiator/coolant is getting very close to a "lifetime situation". I mean you don't have to touch the coolant for 100,000 miles in most vehicles.
NiMH for the hybrid battery. Interesting choice.
Wow, 1200lbs payload on one of the loaded models. That's pretty meh. (Yes, I know that F150's get down to around 1500 on the Lariats and Platinum loaded 4X4's)
lithium batteries are inherently more risk than NiMH due to their cell balancing/thermal runaway issues. If you put it directly under the passenger seat, the way toyota has, NiMH is much safer. Plenty of nice features and if they implemented the 3.5TT really well, they may sell a number of them.NiMH for the hybrid battery. Interesting choice.
Same situation for me but on the positive side, we will still be able to purchase the exact same truck 10 years from now. While the grille is even bigger (which I didn’t think was possible) than the one on my ‘16 Tundra,
I like it.
That said, I’m not going to be in the market for a new truck any time soon.
I’ve got a couple hundred thousand more miles left in my Tundra.
Redline Reviews has a comprehensive look at the new Tundra. The front end looks better in my opinion when the grill edges are body color and not chrome.
Toyota will sell a bunch of these.
Agreed. TRD Pro should have come with a 2" lift, larger tires, and a front locker. Basically a ZR2/Raptor competitor. It's basically an appearance package with shocks. Also, lots of truck guys want a V8. Should have kept the 5.7 as an option. They should have just made the Tundra a 1500HD and found their niche instead of compete with Ford and Chevy.Jeebus. You're going to have to clean out the small birds that get trapped in the grill.
I have a Ford F150 and it's been great, but I'm not brand loyal (had a '03 Silverado Z71 that was awesome too).
I don't think these things are going to sell. The county boys who drive pickups every day are going to stick to the big three that actually look like a truck (yes, even Chevy compared to this!). They will not rush to the dealer to buy an Autobot.
too much too late
Almost seems like this truck was meant for 2015-2018 and then was shoved under a desk until they decided to finish it. Doesn't seem like a current year truck. but an old model that got a refresh. I'm disappointed. No V8, no ZR2 competitor, and sure to come with a high price. The 2015 Ford wasn't pretty, In fact, it looks related.
the new m3 is their best looking car in decadesBMW: look at those grills on Toyota/Lexus. We need to do something about it. Boom:M3.
Toyota: hold my beer.
