2024 Silverado 1500 LT Crew 4x4 5.3 or 2025 Ram 1500 Bighorn Crew 4x4 3.0 Hurricane?

Wait until Stellantis realizes what can be, and the Hurricane is unburdened by what has been <---- deep, eh? Yeah, I'm smrt like dat.

However, the early adopters will be burdened by the nightmare that is.

I have my concerns with Stellantis products quality,..that being said GM has their issues as well. I would only get the Ram. If they gave it me for that price plus an essentially as close as possible to number to bumper extended warranty for atleast 100k miles

Everything has its problems. It is really a matter of picking the headaches that you desire.
However, the GM's, the Fords, and even the HEMI's are well known.
The Hurricane issues are still TBD.

I think GM has been hurting a little bit with new tech (just like everyone else) and RAM has been trying to compete as the underdog. A friend just traded his AT4 due to 10speed trans shrapnel (dealer quoted 10k to replace) and said they’d been seeing a few of them lately and couldn’t promise when they could get the parts. That, and unless you are carrying a heavy payload, the interior quality and ride probably has an edge to the RAM. I personally like the feel of a straight 6. Just my opinion. I own a ford and right now if I had to buy another truck would be not be a ford, but I think I’m good to stay with it for a while longer. I wouldn’t want to buy any truck new right now due to price.

Kind of a draw to me, as pointed out both have their issues.

The hurricane is really not known if it's going to be good yet. I will say I test drove one recently and was impressed by the power and torque curve, not impressed enough to pay $72,000 for it 😂

But the models you were looking at seem like a good balance with plenty of features still. One thing I will say when I drove the 23 Chevys last year, the lower/mid trims seemed really cheap. One area of the Rams have always done well is the interior.

You mentioned the lifter issues with the 5.3, which makes the Hemi lifter issue look good, but question the Hurricanes unknown reliability.
It seems that you have a dilemma! Known issues that cause poor reliability, 5.3 lifters and a questionable 10 speed transmission, or the unknown possibilities with the 3.0l i6 that could be far worse down the road.
I don’t envy your position of choosing.

Would worry about the unpainted frames on the GM stuff, just doesn't protect as well as paint and reacts badly to any fluild film like product.

I'd look at an F150 maybe.

This has been an issue going back to the 90's, the design is generally great let down by poor oversight on suppliers. I've seen very few Chrysler issues due to engineering, it's been all traced back to the poor quality of suppliers.
Agreed. That's the issue -- you might get a great one, or you might get one that is a complete turd.

Word on the street is that Stellantis is constantly changing suppliers to save a buck, hence the constant part number changes on parts that are seemingly identical.
