First oil change on a used yukon I picked up, should be the factory Dexos D 0w-20 as it was a certified pre-owned
Oil was changed to Amsoil 0W20 Diesel and upgraded to the larger factory filter

Looking at the iron numbers at 31 for a 4,500 mile run.
Seems a bit high? Thoughts?

Here's a UOA for reference.

You're correct it does seem high, going to try the amsoil for the next oci and re-sample.
I live 30 miles from town so this sees mainly highway miles. Maybe the dealer only changed half the oil?

Do you know the curb weight of this SUV? Curious

Around 6,000 lbs but I’ve never ran it across the scale
5,700lbs with 3.0 duramax base model, but it depends on equipment, too. I think the top model is at 5,904lbs.
Does the manual allow other oil weights? After warranty, I would switch to something like Mobil1 ESP 5W30 or 0W30. Anything that has MB229.52 approval.

This is the extended model Denali, The manual only allows Dexos D 0w20 which is over $20 a quart. After warranty I’m going to switch to a 5w30 HDEO, most likely Amsoil Max Duty Diesel, which I’m currently running in my car a 3.0 TDI
