Hello, i am chasing a vibration issue on my 2018 240i xdrive and these are the symptoms, so it started as just a minor buzz when applying throttle and lifting off throttle in lower rpm when driving above 80kmh and if you just feather the throttle slightly you could replicate the vibration and keep it going instead of it just lasting a split second like when going on and off throttle.
Then it was kinda just more and more and it became very apparent that something was wrong there was distinct rumbling noise above 100-120kph+ and you could really feel it in the passanger footwell more so than driver.
So when i first noticed the vibration i immediately done both diffs, transfer case fluid and transmission fluid and it did not fix the issue, afterwards i went to a friend who is bmw specialist and we raised the car removed the underbody panels and it was apparent that there is some front diff oil around the front right CV axle housing, or well exactly where the CV axle goes into the housing, i immediately thought that the axle seal is bad probably from bad CV axle, axle looked very grease around that part but all the rubber boots were good and werent greasy, Axle had some play in it and was clicking so everything else looked good and we concluded that i need new axle + axle seal, so fast forward a month the new GKN axle is on the car aswell as the axle seal, but the problem is still there, altho i only drove the car about 5-6 minutes from the garage to my house because the vibration was still there, it sounded a bit different than before so i suspected that maybe the right side wheel bearing could also be bad, i inspected it when changing the axle and i heard some minor clicking noise when trying to turn it left/right and when trying to spin it felt like it wasnt really spinning freely.
I have also tried xdelete before changing the axle and the vibration was still there even with xdelete.
I have now ordered SKF wheel bearing and while i am waiting for that to arrive i am just wondering is there anything else that i am maybe missing that could be the culprit, we have inspected everything else and it looks fine, rear axle stuff looks good including the main driveshaft and guibo, it definately feels like its coming from the front, the only thing that are left is the wheel bearings and engine mounts.
So in summary what was done
Diffs, transfer case and transmission fluid.
Xdelete just to see if it gets rid of vibration and it does not.
Right CV axle ( left looks good )
Wheels and tyres are brand new.
Brake rotors are new.
All suspension components look good.
Any insight is appreciated.
