2005 CRV vibration under acceleration

My 2006 was a vibration monster. I was always chasing something. A couple of posters have mentioned a few things and these were my issues over the years:
- Sticky calipers / warped rotors were a common issue. I once warped a set of AutoZone rotos in one panic stop.
- Upper strut mounts
- Engine mounts
- A Arm bushings.
- Cheap tires/struts/ball joints. These were replacement parts that failed quickly leading to vibrations.

My 06 Odyssey EXL vibrates on acceleration on the highway. The motor mounts are very worn. Also shakes more when the temperatures are hotter as the rubber in the mounts must flex more. The OEM mounts are $2500, parts alone. Can’t justify that much for a vehicle with 234,000 miles. We just use it for local, run errands, go to work, mostly non-highway duty.

We use a different vehicle for long highway trips.

Well, jury's out.

Transmission has worn parts and excessive slack.

Shop wants (get this) $5700 🤣🤣 to repair/replace.

With over 230,000 miles, I think this falls under the category of "drive it until it explodes". Like zfasts03 said - local trips and drive it easy.

I would suggest getting the DEA/Marmon motor mount kit from Rockauto for $155. If you use the 5% discount code (317944329251370457) before 11/14/25, it will help to defray the shipping cost/taxes. While not the same quality as Honda OEM, DEA/Marmon is an OEM supplier for several other car manufacturers and is the best aftermarket brand for Honda motor mounts.

Not sure that I agree with that diagnosis… But without driving it, it’s hard to say. But based on your description, I would say worn inner CV joints.

(Nukeman, it has new motor mounts)

Ok the jury is in.

Transaxle is worn, has slop in bearings/races and other places.

Shockingly, every shop contacted wants in excess of $5000 for a rebuild and at least $3300 for used. Can't get to the transaxle without disassembling the rest of the trans.

You can get another CRV for $1000 less than that; methinks this falls under the category of "drive it till it quits"

SOLD! to Coparts for $810
You sold a running CRV for $810? Guess you were itching to dump it?

vibrations under load are likely CV axle issues. Bad motor mounts manifest under all running conditions, not only under load.

But vibrations can also be rabbit chases. Definitely granted if you can’t live with vibration irritations.

If you would check my original posts, you would see that there were new CV axles, new motor mounts and that it had been to three driveline shops....it was the transaxle going bad.

I probably could have gotten more out of it -perfect project for a backyard mechanic- but no longer live nearby and travel for work. This was the most do-able sale option besides Carmax (which offered much less)
