2004 Tahoe trans problems.....

I just had my 2005 Yukon 4L60E rebuilt. Sounds like the same symptoms mine displayed. It started with a loud bang starting from a stop then no forward movement in D but I had reverse. It would go if I selected 1 or 2. The forward sprag was toast. So you are looking most likely looking at a rebuild or replacement.

do a pan drop change filter . Add some lubeguard red or Lucas trans fix . Good luck
Let's be honest - maintenance never fixes any serious mechanical issues.
Forward Sprag is broken or the Forward Clutch is toast. More likely the Sprag.
Where are you located?you put the truck in D or 3 it wont move at all, if you put it in 1 or 2 it will go, any ideas what could be causing this ?
maybe the trans is toast
Too late, The forward sprag is gone. An additive is not going to fix broken hard parts

Not so sure about that, or at least to the extent of the accepted definition of "mechanical issues". I have fixed blow by issue by some flushing and very short OCIs. I would say that is a mechanical issue, if not what would it be?
In an auto tranny, if the fluid is on the old side and not really doing its job, I have observed a fluid change and filter to fix a shirting issue. Perhaps it would call it a hydraulic issue more precisely?
