A good friend of mine has a 2001 Monte Carlo and today he said his power steering suddenly went out on him. He said he was backing out of a parking spot and when he was starting to go forward again all of a sudden his power steering went out and his car has no assist anymore...
I took a quick look and verified that the belt was on and the fluid level was ok. There are no power steering leaks in the whole system and there are no strange noises or anything else out of the ordinary, visually or audibly.
Anyone have any idea what happened? I am thinking a stuck valve.
