$101,000 USD 2022 F350- help me understand the seat quality.

Going back to the original question, what is the problem with the seats? The waves or gathers in the leather? That is normal. Leather i#nt elastic and isn’t going to fit tightly like rubber.
The left front edge of the thigh support for one. See the slack and indention?

New leather seats aren't supposed to have creases.

I find Ford's seats immensely comfortable. However, even I will admit that's not right. Even my 200K Ford seats don't look like that.

I know it's a different vehicle but with how "modular" these are, is it really not possible ? There's a guy on a Fusion forum that swapped in a heated steering wheel on a trim that didn't offer it. I didn't read the guide in-depth but frequently it just req'd swapping in a different harness/connector.

You ever browse any F-series forums looking for more information ? Then again, I see you're in the southeast (US ??) so you might not care about that option ! 😂
So you didn't read the thread and you don't know. Again if the wiring harnesses are not the same across trim levels- it's an issue. It depends on the wiring harness.

What I know is it worked on that vehicle and I'm suggesting it might be doable on his truck. Sorry if that doesn't meet your standards....

Good ole Eldo, less than 15 minutes from dad's. That dealer used to hate my gpa and dad. Parents haven't bought anything from them since 98, better deals at Joplin.
What little I’ve done with them had always been good. They loaned contest cars for my Vo-tech to practice on for the Ford/AAA contest for years. I sold a 90s Ford F-250 to them with a Deweze a while back. They wanted it for the bed. I guess Harper Industries was having supply chain issues like everyone else and couldn’t supply beds fast enough. Any dealer work my family has needed comes out of Springfield.

A local Ford dealer is selling this 2022 F350 for $101,900. With Washington state tax, I suspect this truck is over $110, 000 out the door.

What I can't understand is what I percieve of quality control of the front driver seat. At $110k, I would think the seat covering would be uniformly spread and passed a solid quality control process.

What value are people really getting for these well loaded trucks, over the same truck with basic cloth seats, etc. The quality of this seat really makes me wonder.

I have no issue with the thigh support on this. I've recovered a few seats and the material needs about a week's worth of daily driving to stretch, contract, and settle in place.

No it doesn't. Some one stated the wiring harness was different on an Ford F150 pickup XL model. Since the XL doesn't have a heated steering wheel from the factory- the poster couldn't add it.The wire wasn't there. Now- as I stated earlier - The Titan boards have found a common harness across all trim levels. This is probably a cost cutting move by Nissan. Ford apparently doesn't share wiring harnesses across different trims- at least on their pickups.

it’s for when you make money and need to upgrade from a clapped out ram. slap the gooseneck on and go to work in comfort

if you’re living in a truck you don’t want have the poor model. that’s for company drivers not owner operators
I got you. Its for when you make LOTs of monies and need the upgrade. That means to me its mostly for folks who might even pay it off in full at the time of delivery. I started looking/thinking of outrageous size/cost/practicality. Monthly note as big as some house notes etc.. So I must stop. Sorry, because I accidentally steered this thing away from OPs interests. He is talking / looking at quality. I do agree with his conclusions. Being on our 3rd car with leather interior (I could care less/yet wife demands leather) which I do not mind buying for her because she does not spend money or waste it so I figure she deserves the best car we can afford that she likes. All our leather vehicle interiors stayed like new. We do manage to keep all vehicles in the garage. So they do not spend lots of time in intense heat / sunlight.

Guarantee you that I could make it work with a wiring diagram and the correct pigtail.

It depends, my 2004 Ford Crown Victoria had all the wiring for cruise control, all I needed to do was add the servo under the hood and a steering wheel with cruise control switches. The more popular the option, the more likely it is that the wiring harness will have the wiring for it.

Some of us like driving $50,000.00 pickups- believe it or not.
(y) Appologize to you if I caused that comment. I post my preference for things here far too much without taking others ages / likes and incomes in mind. Bull in China Shops tend to break things.
