That's weird how it actually makes more noise after ~35s!
Usually it quiets down after a few seconds.
Is there an adjustment or something other than tappets that can be done? Have you checked all parts, nothing loose that can rattle? Like exhaust manifold heat shield? Sparks plugs and coils are all correctly torqued (I had once a spark plug who had unscrewed itself, made weird things)?
No adjustments.
I will check the heat shield this weekend. There is a bolt missing, that will be replaced.
I will check the plugs again.
Well this morning I made 3 recordings and the noise had gone!! I did drive the car very hard yesterday revving it high before changing gears.
Stuck tappets? So more spirited driving is required.
But not betting it has gone completely. Probably come back again today. I'll let you know.
I'm suspecting the previous driver never revved the thing above 1500 rpm!! My old alfa was like that, always needed an Italian tune up after the misses had it for a week but that was a different beast altogether.
