Numbers don't look too bad. Hey, its not a Toyota. And, the numbers are relatively consistent.

Looks like there is enough TBN to go the 15k mile OCI. But, viscosity issues, along with nitration/oxidation, might be something to worry about.

Hows the oil consumption?

I vote for series 3000.

Is there room for the FL1a/PH8a/51515 sized oil filter. Maybe all you need to hit 15k is the increase in filter size and filtration, along with the few extra ounces of oil capacity?

From what I understand, oil consumption is Zero between the oil changes. Good question on the avaliable filter space...I don't think he will move away from the stock.

This week he is going in for the 100,000 mile FIRST transmission change

I have been trying to get him to change the rear end oil for the FIRST time too

I have sent him some information on changing the transmission and rear end on a NORMAL basis, but...at this point he is going with the schedule that was provided with his Durango. Hey, one thing at a time right

he just needs to apply his engine logic to the rest of the drivetrain

There is enough room for a FL1A/EaO15 in a Ram w/ 4.7L...
I push it to 6.5qts. with that size filter which is a slight overfill..
