Assuming you are doing this to help them out, I agree with you completely. Unfortunately, in their mind, you were the last person to touch it. Heck, in my software field, the guy making the last change automatically is assumed to have caused the fault even if his change had absolutely nothing to do with the crash of the software

Yea I hope they arent so ignorant if they are ill just run over it with my truck. That way I can be blamed for something fairly

you would be surprised to learn how many times a bad radiator cap will mimic symptoms of a bad head gasket. Just small bits of grit will prevent a radiator cap from fully sealing under pressure.
