I'd say that's because the folks sending in samples are maintenance conscious and tend to care about this kind of thing more than the average consumer. The vast majority of UOA are also analysis of Synthetic Oil at ~5K miles.
Lugging is not based on just the rpm of the engine but the load as well. 1200rpm in first gear is not lugging. 1200 in fourth or fifth gear, now you’re lugging.
True, but most all cars/truck run this rpm -programmed to go to top gear above idle ASAP.
Thus the issues with pinging on regular gas with 12:1 compression - even with VVT and variable intake runner length and tumble valves.
Old flathead engines had low compression and high velocity intake charge at these rpm and would pull fine at 1200 rpm. The want for High advertised power that apparently no one uses ( other than Motortrend) has ruined drivability more than we remember
The reputation of the GM 3.6 is pretty terrible. It doesn't do well with the timing chains and tensioners. If you go the manufacturer recommended OCI it'll still kill the chains and you'll have to drop a boatload of money to have them done.

The transmission gets changed at 50,000- due to towing. And then usually traded in before 100,000 miles for a healthy down payment on a new one. Other than oil changes that's it.
