    Caffeine withdraw........

OUCH! I've tried to reduce my caffeine intake to no avail. The caffeine withdrawal headache cannot be properly expressed in words here on BITOG without risking a permanent vacation from the board. I wish you complete success, Pablo.

    Anyone running Lube Control

I've been using LC20 for several years now. I have found it is a very powerful oil antioxidant- it takes a long time for my oil to darken when I use it. Also, Terry Dyson mentioned LC20's coefficient of friction reduction and I do believe it works in that way as well, an experience I had about...

    Hold the door.

It is very rare for me not to receive a thank-you when I hold the door open, but the first time I can remember in a long time happened just a couple of weeks ago. As for cashiers- if they ask how I am I tell them and also ask how they are, and I do try to be sincere. I do recall a couple of...

    Favorite Winter Olympic Events?

Since I do not have TV, the only Olympic sport I was able to watch televised was curling when I visited Granite Curling Club in Seattle last Saturday. Curling is a fantastic sport, and it was also great to hear that Nicole Joraanstad made the U.S. Women's Team- I remember her from a few years...

    6 year old Auto-RX

Yep, should be good- although I still think the old 2 oz./quart ratio for 2500-3000 miles or whatever the mileage was, will work fine, JMO.

    Ammo in magazines

It never gave a thought about the magazine springs in my SIG Pro SP2022 mags- good thing, too, because I have 16 magazines for it (two, 12-rounders for SD and 14, ten-round California-type for practice). Admittedly, though, I rarely shoot it but will probably do much more of such when I get all...

You order salad with oil and vinegar dressing and insist on a VOA.

    Paid posters for Auto Rx

I was never compensated for speaking highly of Auto-Rx. It worked for me, though. And I use LC20 between the ARX'ings... it works for me, too. Yeah, if somebody sends another member a PM berating their usage of LC20, that IMO is clearly crossing the line.

    My local NAPA store...

That is really a bummer to hear, Pablo. Was that the NAPA at the far end of Carnation in the real old building, on the right-hand side as you're heading (south)? I remember doing a paving job through the town back in '97 or so and recall seeing a NAPA there. Losing a NAPA store is almost like...

    What oil to use

I think Pablo hit the nail on the head- HDD is about the very best 5W-30 IMO for such use, and anywhere a 5W-30 is called for. A very stout oil.

Torque wrench for oil change - necessary or not?

I never used a torque wrench on my USA-made vehicles but always do on my '95 Civic- 34 foot-pounds from memory. And always a new crush washer.

    Tap and Die sets

The OP's question is a very good one and I am also curious as to what's best out there today in the tap and die realm... For the record, I very seldom use taps and dies but they are truly indispensable when you need them. I have a small-ish Hanson set that I bought at Ernst Hardware many years...

Do dentists enjoy making you suffer?

I believe dentists have the most thankless job on the planet- it seems that NO ONE wants to go there. I do not believe dentists enjoy making anyone suffer, or at least they shouldn't. About five years ago I moved about 100 miles north of where I spent pretty much my entire life but I still have...

Synthetic motor oil in your lawnmower??

My 2001 Honda Harmony II mower has had synthetic oil from day one- first M1 5W-30 or 10W-30, then AMSOIL ASL 5W-30 and now ACD 10W-30/30 with a dash of Auto-Rx.

    The Top 5 BITOG Forums

For me, it tends to be: 1) Oil Additives; 2) General and Off-Topic; 3) Lawn Mower and Small Engine; 4) Computers; and 5) Humor. Since I recently obtained a Ruger GP100 I have been hanging around the Firearms section a lot more...

BITOG has a reputation for banning.

The fact that BITOG is, in fact, intended to be a family-friendly website and enforced as such is one reason I still like this board. Tony ran a tight ship, no question about it. If Helen and the other moderators wish to continue in that tradition, more power to 'em. The one major challenge...

tips and advice needed for starter gun

I guess I have an awful lot of old school in me- even though I knew Ruger mentioned in their manuals that it was OK to dry-fire their revolvers such as the GP100, I still would not do so without something such as an eraser or one of them newfangled "Snap-Cap" thingies. I just can't bring myself...
