I have a bottle of Auto-RX that I bought in early 2004. It's been sitting on my shelf in my garage for almost 6 years now. Will it still be okay to use it? Do I need to follow the latest usage instructions on the ARX website? The ones on the bottle are different from what is currently specified on the ARX webiste.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I would follow the instructions on their website, they've been revised based on results seen over the years and I don't believe that formula has changed at all.

Thanks for the replies, nfs480 and Johnny.

I contacted Auto-RX, Frank replied to run the bottle under hot water for 15 minutes and to shake the bottle up. He also informed me to use the current usage instructions that are specified on the ARX website.

I will use the ARX in my upcoming oil change this weekend.

I had Valvoline VSOT, it's as thick as Auto-RX, in the engine compartment in the morning of the day I do the oil change. When I came home in the evening to do oil change the VSOT bottle was very warm and it was very easy to pour it into the engine.

I don't think it has shelf life like food items.

IIRC, the formula does not change just the application procedure was refined due to new knowledge and experience based on testing for better results.

Thanks for the additional replies gentlemen. Yeah, I bought the ARX back in 2004 when it was all the rage. I forgot about this bottle until I was cleaning up the shelves in my garage last week. I will slap it into the wife's car along with Pennzoil Platinum 10W30.

We had discussed the shelf life of A-Rx a while back. IIRC Frank Miller had stated it was indefinite. Somewhere on this board it was mentioned when they were discussing the new and improved bottle it comes in.
