    Mobil Delvac 15W-40 in my '24 GR86

Only 0w20 will work correctly in this engine. Anything else will cause premature engine damage, & you will not be paid on warranty claims.

    HPL premium plus vs Euro

Since there's nothing special about the engine or service, any oil on the shelf at walmart is more than sufficient. Supertech is fine

    Differences between the two 0W20

Guess you've never managed an oil lab or production plant. The off label toyota stuff gets the inferior basestocks, and the inferior addpacks, so your base be mine

What is considered as 'Optimal' engine oil temperature... ?

Production vehicle: hold oil temperatures between 230 and 260 degrees F, dino, dino syn, or full syn oil. 2024 racing car with race-only synthetics operating at 300-350 degrees F, or even higher.

    Differences between the two 0W20

Any toyota labeled oil would be lagging behind the additive package of any major oil company's premium oils. Not worth using toyota or honda oils.

Is there a recommended oil for short tripping

No. Simply drive her car on the highway for 20 minutes, once per week. This will get the engine up to optimum temp, boiling off the water and light ends from the gasoline built up in the oil from the short trips.

Pennzoil Platinum Looks Cleaner than M1 after use - explanations?

Because it cleans less than M1, which backs up XOM's engine cleaning claim.

    Valvoline Restore & Protect

Valvo. has strange marketing. No extended OCI is quoted, so I guess just use your OLI/MMS, or 10k miles? No seal conditioners, but "it's good for any age engine"? The warranty is probably strangely written, too. Pics show only partial piston cleaning, but no other engine parts claimed.

What did I do draining what was recommended?

Owners manuals are written by engineers. I wrote all the tech lit. for ARCO & Sunoco. Biblical allusions have nothing to do with oil specs. Not talking about oil cooling, Newton's law doesn't apply. Did you take engineering thermo? Repeat, it's hot out, the engine is hotter, the oil is almost...

2 Valvoline Restore & Protect tests

Not talking about oil cooling, Newton's law doesn't apply. Did you take engineering thermo? Repeat, it's hot out, the engine is hotter, the oil is almost at engine temp. Since engine oil is not alive, it doesnt matter that it's hot out. You can safely use the factory spec viscosity. Most cars...

What did I do draining what was recommended?

Your car is pretty sure its engine is hot, like 200 degrees F, in summer, or in winter. You have fallen for the false rumor on BITOG, and the old man's tale, that you need a "thicker" oil in summer hot temps. If it's a 100 outside, the engine is at 200. That's a fact. Engines aren't alive...

    2021 RX350 OCI recommendation?

The HPL tech guy says their oil can possibly go to 35k mile OCI, I believe. Fram Endurance filter is $12, only available at Walmart.

    2021 RX350 OCI recommendation?

First, read the owners manual on oil selection. Then, I'd immediately consider changing to Mobil 1™ ESP X2 0W-20, with Mobil 1 oil filter or Fram Endurance filter. No flush needed. This may give you the most torque, HP & MPG, due to an ester additive. Run to 10k miles OCI. If car is not...

What 0w16 are you using in your newer toyota?

Mobil 1 0w16 EP will give you highest torque, HP, & MPG. The only one with the secret slippery oleo ester developed by Mobil and Honda Racing, afaik.

What did I do draining what was recommended?

since your name is @ARCOgraphite , I assume you worked with me at ARCO's Harvey, Chicago Research Labs. I tested ARCO Graphite in the field when I was with ARCO, and developed ARCO Supreme gasoline.

2 Valvoline Restore & Protect tests

To participate, I'm running my own test with 1 qt of VR&P with 3.5 qt of M1 EP that already has 10k miles on it. Running to 15k miles OCI. This starts the cleaning immediately. Based on my previous similar tests with Valvoline High Mileage leak seal oil when it first came out, I expect full...

What did I do draining what was recommended?

I would change to Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy Full Synthetic Motor Oil 0W-16, using Mobil 1 oil filter, or Fram endurance oil filter. You would get maximum torque, HP, & MPG. Change every 10k miles.
