I have an 06 Electraglide...I just use Rotella 15w40 or something similar that is wet clutch rated. 75w90 Mobil One in the gearbox and everything is happy! Most everyone I know who does their own Harley maintenance is using something similar, except the sportster guys whose primary and gearbox...
In my 06 'Glide Standard I use the 15w50 Mobil 1 in the engine. Most any synthetic 75w140 in the trans and Rotella or Delo 15w40 in the primary as most of the HDEO 15w40 oils are wet clutch rated. No need to get too fancy. It is just a chain and clutch running in oil. Change it every 10,000 or...
I ride my ElectraGlide to work routinely when the temp is above 25 degrees. That big fairing and the soft lowers help a lot. No heated gear yet but will eventually get some. It is a 28 mile ride to work with about 20 of it on the interstate. By the way, Mobil 1 15w50 seems to work great for me...

Just get the black Harley filters for $8.99....just 3 bux or so...
I will be interested to know how yours look as well. I have an 06 FLHTI that now is approaching 25000 miles. My son has an 03 Road King with nearly 30000 miles as well. My understanding is it sort of the luck of the draw and many of the problem we cured by late in the 06 model run. There seems...
I run Rotella 15w40 in my primary. It is wet clutch rated and seems to work well all year. Any HDEO or that viscosity I would think would be suitable but to be sure check the ratings on the bottle to see if they meet the wet clutch spec. Plus buying it by the gallon it is pretty cheap and you...

The 883 is a good little bike. While it does not have the go a 1200 has it depends on what you are looking for. They are not speed demons but on the other hand they give a Harley touring bike or a lot of other full size cruisers fits during a stoplight challenge. My stepson has one and it hauls...
I realize that cash outlay is a concern her. However if you could find a nice old 883 Sportster (and you well may in the $3000 - 4000 range) you can get mpg up into the 60s and at what time you decide to sell probably recoup a larger percentage of your original purchase price. I mean it is to...
Pretty lucky here in the Nashville area. Been able to ride to work off and on all winter. Don't ride in the winter rain but going to work when it is in the mid 30s is a piece of cake these days. 30 mile each way commute. Lots easier on gas than my F-150.
Citgo is the present supplier of Harley oil so tell your bud he is helping support Hugo Chavez. I personally use the Mobil1 15w50 in the engine. Mobil1 synthetic gear lube in the tranny and as a previous poster stated Rotella or any HDEO in the primary. The Harley dino 20w50 is a decent oil just...

Isn't that a bit too small of an engine for that weight of a car?? What's the 0-60 (MPH) time??
I'm sure it's got some power, but that just strikes me as too small...
I went to the Tennessee HOG Rally in Nashville this year and they closed course Chapter Challenge (where they basically ride a similar course as used in the MSF training course) was ridden bu a lot of "chicks" using mostly Road Kings with a few on Heritage Soft Tails. One lady in particular was...
