Hilarious. If there was a tear, there would be 80 posts by now. An immaculate MC filter after 7600 miles.......crickets.

Well … the media on these is indeed weak compared to others …
I spent my own cash and time cutting them open to understand what was posted here …
Having said that … IMO, the weak media is best confined in small filters like the 910s …
And my Ford Fusion and B&S 19 HP agree

Would you run this filter for 10k miles on a Fusion Energi?

Hey, of Tig1 has faith going 10k on a quality oil and MC FL910S then give it a shot

This one looks very good.

Thanks for the C&P.

I didn't notice much change honestly

The MC 910S performs very well at 10K OCIs in My old Focus (totaled last year) with 175K and also my 2017 Fusion with 59K. I also use the MC1017B in the 2007 Fusion at 10K.

Looks good. I might try one when my Saturn gets it annual oil change next month. Does anyone know what the efficiency rating on these are?

What's strange about Motorcraft and the whole USCAR-36 standard it that it's not mentioned on any of the oil filter boxes that I've seen, and it's not mentioned on the Motorcraft parts website. Only place it's ever mentioned is in that YouTube video, which isn't even linked on the official Motorcraft website.

Generally speaking OEM filters don't release their efficiency ratings. Motorcraft no different. For years all Motorcraft released/published was a vague ' at least 80% >20 um', nothing outstanding. Then in 2011 Amsoil compared several OEM filters they had tested including the FL820S using the current standard test ISO 4548-12. The result was a respectable ~94%@20um. While the 910S a different application, 'imo' not much of leap to say it's either identical or close.

Good point.

The do have training if you are willing to enroll and setup an account. I wonder if this could have come from there and was uploaded to YouTube.

For the price of a subscription, I can probably find out.

Pricing:
72 hour access: $21.95
30 days access: $324.95
1 year access one low price of: $2699.95

My curiosity level just plummeted.

Staring at time 3:44 they show how the base end bypass valve operates ... but it's technically wrong because the whole filter element does not rise up off the valve.
