2009 Honda CRV EX-L (all wheel drive)

I've had a virgin oil sample of the Honda Dual Pump II fluid analyzed since my original report last week. See below for details including TBN and TAN.

Thanks for posting this, and for paying for the VOA.

Looks very similar to their ATF formulation, including starting hot viscosity and the in-use sheared viscosity. Very interesting.
 
I can only guess. My guess is that some dirt attached to the bottom of the differential near the drain plug got washed into the sample as it flowed out.

I only plan on running 15K miles on the DPII fluid that replaced this. Almost 29K is too many miles even though Honda recommends more.

What is your measurement for this? How do you know how many miles is too many? Do you just not like the wear numbers in the UOA?

For what it's worth, I am on a 30k mile schedule on the AWD fluids in our vehicles. The MDX gets 80W-90 in the transfer case and VTM-4 in the rear unit every 30k, and the CR-V gets DPF-II in the rear unit every 30k. You are right; Honda does recommend more, but I find that 30k miles is simply an easy-to-remember number and it's something that I don't mind spending the money on.
