I wouldn't completely dismiss HDEOs, however. You may be able to find a 15w40 HDEO with an HTHS rather close to that of the oil you're considering. Then again, I may be mistaken and such an animal may not exist.
Even if it does, you're still stuck with actually tracking it down. If a wide variety of PCMOs aren't readily available in your locale, the same may hold true for HDEOs.
What's the Valvoline availability like down there? Valvoline VR1 comes in 20w-50 and straight 50, and will have plenty of ZDDP. Up here, it's almost attractively priced.
And it's not a strictly racing only oil, in that it does have satisfactory detergent levels.
Again, check with Widman. He'd be the best resource I know of for sourcing appropriate quality oils in your neck of the woods.
Valvoline we have but the 20w50 just conventional mineral oil.
Or Synthetic 10w40 Premium blue but again this will be too thin in summer. In the city the engine cooling relies on the fans mostly and we have very short junctions, many start/stop type of driving with fast starts (very Italian style driving - kind of chaotic).
This summer I measured 55 degrees in the direct sun (40 in the shade).
I think the best option is for me to stick with the 10w60 and maybe add this additive.
I may ask Castrol directly for their opinion.
