Your Favorite Non - OEM Air Filter ?

ACDelco for both my cars, Wix is 2nd choice. I have no idea whether the AC filters are better than Wix but they are always well built, fit well, perform well according to this old study, and $$$ less than Wix.

I would use OEM for the Odyssey but the local Honda dealer is not my friend.
For both my Lucerne and Sierra the AcDelco filters are almost identical to the Wix

That study is ~9 years old now ... but it would be interesting to see a similar study done with today's air filters to see if anything has changed.

It would certainly be interesting to see which ones are still good and which ones are now bad. The only remaining issue would be how well it seals in the air box.

In my case, ACDelco is OEM for the Cad so no worries about seal/fit there. At first I was hesitant to use non OEM in the Ody but I was happy to see that it also sealed very well.

^^^ Yep, the filter sealing well in the airbox is certainly important. Any leakage pretty much kills any filter efficiency.

I've been liking the Denso filters from Rockauto. Good tight fit and appears to be a quality filter media and they are priced right. I will run an occasional Fram or STP here and there as well and they were ok too.

K&N in all 5 vehicles at my house. In before:

1) dIRTy MAf (too late)
2) hiGH siO2 uoA (too late)
3) hoT AIr inTAke (it's coming with the picture below)
4) lock (likelihood is moderate)

^^^^This I will give the OP a pro and a con; I've had an aFe Pro Dry S in use for almost 40K miles, blown it out occasionally with >30 psi gentle air...UOA shows very acceptable Si levels. Con: My son had an '04 Impala while in college a few years back. He had a K&N air filter on for awhile and we did UOA; the Silicon ppm came back in the 900+ range. We threw the K&N in the trash and put a stock air filter on and the Si counts dropped to normal. If someone GAVE me a K&N air filter for my car it would go in the trash. ;)
Many UOAs on multiple vehicles with K&N in my stable show SiO2 at normal low numbers...that is more likely a fitment issue you saw or a filter that was damaged or not maintained properly.
