Just wondering what members of BITOG use as far as e-mail providers? I know theres a lot more companies out there but, this are probably the 3 big ones.

Had yahoo for 15 years or so. Kept with it, if only because it's one address that I haven't changed in, well, 15 years.

Best free email account I have found over the years is GMX Mail.

Free IMAP, POP3, or Web Based Email.

I use it in both Windows and Linux in Thunderbird as an IMAP account.

I just use my ISP provider's service. The domain name is from a company that no longer exists, but ATT maintains the records for it.

It does sending and receiving with TLS, IIRC.

currently have all 3, on top of my ISP email address....
the hotmail is my ORIGINAL email account(soon to be 14yrs),
next oldest would be the yahoo(Used to be an SBC customer(would have been...2002-ish?), the email they gave me was an @sbcglobal.net, but was just a yahoo account, later merged into another yahoo account i opened after switching isp's.
Then My brother signed me up for a gmail account same time he did his(and actually gmail is the only one that's not earlyre@ again, cuz my bother set it up, and i never bothered to change it before i started using it),
and then there's the one from my current ISP.

I like GMAIL used with Windows Live Mail. Used with the web browser based I get too many ads. And you know they are reading your email to get the content for the ads. Send me an email mentioning Joes Garage and radiator and there will be an ad from Joes Garage and another about a radiator.

I have hotmail, gmail, and yahoo email accounts. Seems anytime you send something with an attachment that ends with [.exe] hotmail and gmail remove the attachment. That can be a real PITA if you are trying to send something that is not harmful. Yahoo allows the file to go through without issue or me having to fool around with the file in order to make it acceptable for hotmail or gmail.

Hotmail/Live. It's not just email anymore. 25GB file storage, Office web - essential Word Excel Powerpoint functions, email, chat, etc, all in one web browser window. Microsoft has done this right and is leading the way converging services alongside email.

Free is the best part

Gmail is my primary personal account. I use Hotmail for sales ads from my favorite websites. I have a yahoo account that is never used.

gmail since 2004ish.

Incredible search. Works offline very well. I really like the filters to sort the mail with labels.

yahoo interface is too busy. poor search.

Used Yahoo primarily since 1997 until started using Gmail in 2005. Still check my hotmail from time to time.

Yahoo as the primary and GMail as a secondary. I prefer Yahoo but everyone I know with a Yahoo mail account has been hacked including myself.
