Alright ladies and gentlemen, what is your favorite conventional (dino) oil and why is it (add pack, reliable, low wear, cost)? This can include synthetic blends as well, and consider that price is no option, unless that is your only reason for buying it!

Let the bloodshed begin, haha!

But seriously, I just want to see what people like.

Take care everyone!

Was GTX (5w30) for the strong add pack, but IMO it's a bit on the thick side for winter starts. It's been a mild winter this year and the wife's Altima cranks slowly with it when the temperature is in the single digits. (Installed a new battery this summer)

Based on the data in the "New Sheriff" thread, I'd have to go with Mobil Clean 5000. Same good stuff, but cheaper at Wally's.

Chevron Supreme 5w-30...

Seems to have a good history based on many experiences from this site. Also, it's a good deal at Costco with their coupons or instant rebates (Currently $19.49 for a case of 12).

All brand names dino are good for 5-7k miles/6 months OCI's, I still have some Chevron Supreme, Havoline DS and Peak I bought for less than 50 cents after rebate.

PYB, old habits die hard. Lately I've been switching around with the beater, but looking at my stash, PYB and PP dominate the stash.

MC5000. Costs less than most, great add pack, backed by 6 month/5k warranty by Mobil (even for the DIY'er), and runs smooth in both cars we have.
