Either they like us or they are smart enough to realize we can be a lot of trouble.

About 4 years ago I went to a lecture by a naturalist (Brent Nixon) who is an expert on Alaska coastal critters. IIRC he said there are only two documented attacks by Orcas on Humans. Both were the result of Human stupidity. The one I remember was a case where an idjit in a black wet suit dove into the water while Orcas were feeding on seals.

A human disguised to look like a seal (black wetsuit) dove into a pod of feeding Orcas. Result, several lacerations and a few broken bones. An Orca picked the idjit up in his mouth and tossed him up on the beach. The clear message was, don't bother us while we are eating.

Before the internet, I think New Departure furnished much of the equipment for spreading such information.

I could picture a Rotty being able to do it. I know my Newf could. Plenty of large dogs with strong jaws out there that lack the same "reputation" that the Pit has.

Black and white, and with herding instinct, just like our (not mine) border collies

Before I read the last part of that sentence I had a vision of a couple of the more "outspoken" BITOGERs chewing on tires.

Nah, I don't care for tires. The carbon black stains my teeth.
