I have the opposite problem... But fixed it with a Conical Air Filter they make.

I kind of have a limited selection of air filters like StevieC. I would like to try a pre-oiled high efficiency air cleaner element like PureOne or Fram Tough Guard. But they don't make 'em for my truck--so I usually use OEM, WIX, or Hastings.
For oil filters, I got all sorts of choices because I got a Toyota with a short but common filter, and can also look up numbers by a 2000 F-150 with the V-6, and that it the same specs but oversize length.
