will be enough to work for now.

Finally found a way to slash 40 bucks a month by dumping comcast and going local.

I like the fact that it is still cable internet, not DSL or ATT.

But here comes the important question (from my wife): Will 2Mbps Internet (cable) be able to stream Hulu with no issues?

Wife doesn't want to give up her shows...

Not likely. 2Mib/s is pretty slow, honestly. That's only ~220KB/s.

Is 2mbps the download speed? Upload matters too, streaming is a pipe.

Use this to test the up and down speeds. http://speedtest.net/index.php

Also, a good router with good QoS is essential, to give priority to Hulu when your surfing the web, cut down on collisions, etc.

I dropped my Time Warner cable but kept Road Runner, and I pay about $55 per month. Just performed a speed test and it topped out at 19.76 Mbps download speed.

Well, it would switching to Wow! from comcast, who are now charging almost 100 bucks for phone(basic) and internet.

This particular deal does regular phone and internet for 50 bucks a month.

Might be able to try for 15 though instead of 2...

I dumped the landline in 2007. Use Skype enabled dect phone that plugs into router as my home phone. Skype gives you a local phone number, voicemail, call forwarding to my cell, etc. for about $60 a year.

This is what happens when I run speedtest at work. Just saying

Haha. Try a test across country, coast to coast. Will be a bottleneck somewhere. Unless everyone's on an edge device at this point..
