Rock auto has the wix xp for half the price I can get in a parts store for my ranger. Price wise I am tempted to buy several. One is an apple that traps very well. Other is an orange that's intended for hard workers like race cars and is more free-flowing.
We have members here that use free-flowing filters and approaching 400K. So the need for high trapping filters is only necessary on poorly designed engines.
If your engine shows sludge or oil gets black and dirty in a hurry, then better traping is a must. If your manufacturer designed your vehicle to wear a high flowing diaper, then XP is your best call. It should be your vehicle's call, not your call.
