The WIx XP 51315XP (Napa Platinum 41315) is no longer listed on the Opticat, and when you search for either the XP or Napa part number on Wix's site, it also comes back as discontinued.

There is still stock for now, plenty in stock at Napa and other stores that sell Wix, but once existing stock is depleted, it's gone.

So if you have a Zetec (Ford used it in the Contour/Mystique, Cougar, Escort ZX2, and Mk1 Focus up to 2004, including the SVT Focus), stock up now if you like a wire-backed filter for extended OCI drains.

Wix still makes the regular 51315 (Napa Gold 1315), but it is made in Mexico now. Fram has the orange can and tough guard available for this application, PH/TG8316. Since the orange can has a silicone ADBV now and is good for 10k, and the TG for 15k, it should suffice now that the XP is gone.

The Napa Platinum/Wix XP was the ONLY wire-backed synthetic oil filter made for the Zetec. Fram never made an Ultra in this application.

The Wix 51315 (and Fram 8316) is basically a 51516/3600 with an anti-siphon valve (like an ADBV but in reverse). Original Motorcraft part number was FL-2005 but Ford stopped offering it years ago when Purolator no longer felt like making it (Purolator 25230). In fact, it could even be a casualty of the Purolator/Mann takeover

Even without this particular application being made anymore, the Wix XP line has the most coverage of any wire-backed synthetic oil filter range. There are still many cars you can get a Wix XP for but not a Fram Ultra.

Thank you for the heads up. I have been using the FL400s for my Focus the entire time I've owned it, but I recently bought some PH2005 Champ filters to give a whirl. The car has started up and run fine the entire time I've had it, but I just want to see what the difference is with that '2005' filter and a '400' filter.

So it appears the TG8316 is also on its way out, too. Although it still shows up as available in Opticat, the TG8316 itself doesn't actually show up in search results on Fram's own site, though you can still google TG8316 and find it on the Fram site. Unfortunately, it says "use until inventory depleted."

So now, the only Zetec-specific oil filters left on the market are
Fram PH8316
Wix 51315 (Napa Gold 1315)
Pro-Tec 169 (Napa Proselect 21315, Microgard MGL51315)
Hastings LF483
and their reboxed clones

Champ is phasing out their Zetec filter (PH2005) and clones. On the Champ site, and Luber-Finer, they say reorder PH400 when stock is depleted.
