Ok, I run 5w20 pennzoil dino in my honda. But I've been dying to try the new pennzoil platinum, and since I can't find the 5w20 flavor down here I want to run as close as possible to the 5w20. Which of the following is a 5w30 and which is the 10w30...the manual says its ok to use 5w30.

oil A oil B

Vi 152 158
40c 63.2 63.9
100c 10.4 10.5
flash 435 421

Not much difference is there viscosity wise? I feel pretty confident I can run 10w30 in my honda also....If I can't tell which is the 10w30, I doubt the engine will notice. The answer is

Oil A is Pennzoil platinum 10w30 and Oil B is pennzoil dino 5w30. Interesting isnt it?

the pp 5w30 is closer by a hair with 59.7/10.5 but I am really interested in trying a 10w30 to see if it really is better in a v-tech.

Dude, you live in hot Texas. I'd be using 10w-30 year round if it were me (wait, I already do that

) Did you see my htread about the new Trop Artic 10w-30? The specs on it look better than the Pennz Platnium!

It does look pretty good. The vis is getting a little on the high side though for the honda. Looking at those sheets I might give the 5w20 a try, it looks excellent. I used the MC 5w20 before, but went to pennzoil when Wally world stopped stocking it. For me, however, the easiest to get will be the conoco, AZ trop arctic looks like its wwII surplus from all the dust on it its probably SG

Thanks Drew
