Will locking gas caps make a comeback?

We never used to buy gas to run our lawn equipment at our weekend home... Always just siphoned some out of the gas tank.

The last vehicle we had that allowed this to occur was out 85 dodge colt vista... even the 91 dodge colt had this feature. I dont think any car made after c. 1990 allowed siphoning.

I'm not sure when exactly they started. My '00 Monte Carlo has a check ball, as you have to drain the fuel tank by removing the fuel sending unit (done through the trunk on my car).

my 99 i can siphon from but not on GM products.
thanks Ford. i dont have to carry around a Gas can. just fill up on my way home then i can mow all night. but i will be buying a locking cap pretty soon. where i live a motion light and a good ole 12 gauge wards off would be siphoners.
you ought to see 'em run.

There's a check ball on a spring that will let fuel flow past it, but won't let a tube in without kinking and bending.
