If you as a fan don't like it, don't watch it.

My thoughts on the sport? I don't think football should have any place in modern society.
I find it ridiculous how many guys and a few gals have an unbelievably strong emotional attachment to American football or football (soccer)

Most guys have a strong subliminal urge to belong to a tribe and project this on to a football team. This is a rather sad indictment of human society.

Nice...at least you've given the ideology some thought.

Good post.

Pretty much. I don't feel the least bit sorry for these women. If you don't want to be beat up by athletes don't date and marry them. As it is they're simply doing a job for money. Even kickers take a hit every once in a while. Just part of the game they play.

The lack of morally upstanding players won't hurt the NFL. It's a mirror of society.
The downfall of the league will be the garbage they put on the field. There's 2-3 good teams, and the rest are average. For the second year in a row, there are teams with a losing record leading their division. There's only 10 teams with winning records. The Cowboys have lost 5 in a row, and can still win the division. I used to think the league had parity, but I've realized it's mediocrity. There's a ton of talent, but only a few teams have figured out how to find it.
Today, I was able to watch only three games. On Saturday, I was able to watch over a dozen different games, and many of them were great. The NFL feels like a bit of a let down after watching Saturday's college games.

I would think that most adults could find more productive and interesting ways with which to spend their time.
I watch the occasional game, but surely not religiously.
WRT players behaving badly, what else would you expect from a bunch of spoiled roidheads?
Oh, you say the players don't use strength and performance enhancing drugs?
When was the last time you saw a 6'2" guy weighing 280 lbs who was solid muscle who didn't?

I prefer baseball but I will watch the NFL. For those who say these guys are over paid should take a closer look. These professional athletes make millions for other people. They worked hard at their craft since child hood.

Yeah well a lot of these women like Ray Rice's wife exhibit typical battered wife syndrome and go back for more then tell everyone to get lost. The NFL gives the guy a slap on the wrist and the show goes on. So what is the public supposed to do?

No criminal charges..... and back on the field.

Ray Rice and his wife were having a fight( verbal initially )when that all went down. You hardly ever hear it talked about but it was actually his wife who threw the first punches/blows and was the aggressor. The FULL video clearly shows she half heartedly slapped him across the face before entering the elevator and then once in the elevator and their argument escalated she hit him again and actually went after/charged him as he backed away from her.

She was no innocent victim cowering and fearing for her life as she has been portrayed. She was an aggressive and willing participant in the fight. Rice hit her once in what looks to me like a reflexive defense move as she went after him. I don't advocate beating on women in the least but by the same token they shouldn't be allowed to hit you either. When she hit him and went after him she brought that punch on herself. JMHO and you can disagree.

Funny how in all of the outrage over that incident, and the video clearly showing her hitting him 1st, it is ignored and he is the one facing all the outrage. Kind of hard for me to sympathize with her. If you want a verbal argument stick to that. Don't hit the man, or worse charge at him with clear intent to get physical, and then complain when he strikes back.

I guess that just isn't PC though these days.

The arrest rate of NFL players is lower per capita is lower then arrest rate of male Americans in the same age group.

NFL players get the headlines because it is low hanging fruit.

I highly doubt NFL football is "all rigged". That's more asinine than saying we never landed on the moon. LoL

WWF however obviously is rigged.

It better be, as they are professional sports players who get paid millions of dollars to play a game they supposedly love. Having money and fame like that should give them something in life to be happy about, and lead to living a good positive life that wouldn't lead to criminal activity. But, sadly we have seen this isn't always the case.

They are human I do not know how being in the top .0001% of athletes on the planet should somehow make NFL players better people.
