Also, we seem to be having some trouble putting gas in it...

Nice... How ya gonna charge? How many miles in a typical day?
Enjoy your beautiful Bolt!
Already installed a level 2 when I was planning on getting a Bolt last year, but then our plans changed, the wife's Versa got totaled, and I ended up getting a Volt instead. So I can use a regular wall plug to charge mine overnight, and she is using the charger. Eventually we will both park and charge in the garage, but I am doing some major re-organizing in there right now to make room.

She is a DoorDash driver (we both are, in fact, but for her it's her only source of income) so she does about 100-ish miles a day, usually. Seems to be a good fit for her, as last night she averaged about 4.4 miles/kwh. About $3 or less of electricity at off-peak rates, and she definitely won't miss having to make time to go to the gas station.

The longest trip she ever makes is ~100 miles each way to see her parents. Cutting it a bit close but she can plug into a regular outlet for a few hours while she's there and make it home no problem. Anything longer and we'll probably take the Volt, that was the idea anyways. Car has DCFC but we don't plan to use it much.

How do you like the Volt compared to the newer Bolt?

Local Chevy dealers still have brand new 2017/18 Volts. Decent $7-10k off MSRP discount but still seems overpriced for size/purpose of vehicle, when compared to Accord/Camry/Insight/Prius.

Any known common issues with either?

Charge it in Texas. They have plenty of grid to spare. ;)

They look smallish, what ICE car does it compare to for interior volume? My wife kinda wants an EV maybe but nothing small.
Slightly larger than her previous car, a Nissan Versa Note. She likes small cars so it's perfect for her. I am 6'1 and have no complaints, I can fit in all four usable seats with plenty of legroom.

When are you gonna drop that factory fill gearbox oil? I kid, I kid! :ROFLMAO:

Nice car - it is a very solid entry from GM for their first non-compliance BEV. Nothing against your Volt but it still has that pesky ICE that eliminates the benefit of BEV's very little required maintenance.

When they're both operating on electricity, I don't notice much of a difference between them. My wife hates the lower seating position of the Volt so it wouldn't have worked for her.

The only somewhat common issue I'm aware of is with the Volt and causes it to not think you're in Park. Covered under the 150k hybrid power train warranty and at this point they have an improved shifter or switch or whatnot that solves the problem.
