Why is Castrol Edge so rare here?

It's not that it's more expensive, about the same price as Mobil 1, it's just that they never really have any rebates and Mobil 1 is cheaper once you factor in the $12 rebate that they have twice a year. But at the same price, I'd buy Castrol over Mobil. For me, I just need MB 229.5 so it doesn't matter what brand I buy.

Plus I got tired of Castrol Edge shifting add packs from Calcium to Sodium to Calcium.....etc without any real notification. Too hard to follow. I want one type of add pack in my car to deal with.

Castrol is popular in EU. They made good oils for both motorcykles and cars. And have a wide sotiment of products. Many car manufactors recommend Castrol.

I buy what I can get a good deal on. They had a bunch of Castrol Magnatec at Walmart for $17 and some change for 5 quart jugs so I bought about 20 to add to my stash. I had to go to 3 local stores to find the correct weights.

I got a couple 5 court jugs of the EP gold for $20 each other day at Walmart.
Otherwise I just usually don't acknowledge it's there. Not sure why to be honest.

That is good deal, I believe this same oil is right around $30 at my local walmart.

For years I swore off Exxon/Mobil because of the Exxon Valdez.[/quote]
That was an unfortunate result of poor seamanship.

Castrol's conventional pricing is too high IMO compared to VWB / PYB / QS.

Their synthetic is also too high compared to other shelf brands most of the time and their UOA's are no better so why bother with that brand?

If it was a deal sure, but otherwise why?
