Surely you've noticed some major changes in your body composition compared to when you were 45. Our body's ability to deal with stresses of all kinds decreases, liver and kidney function falls off around then. The heart even more so. That's around the time when major lifestyle changes are important.
I'm no intellectual messiah but the writing is on the wall for all of us. At 50 the years aged are exponential, it's just a matter of how you want the next twenty years to go, doing what you can to stave off needing to be attached to a piece of luggage to breathe, or having the ability to walk a flight of stairs. Like you said, everyone is different. Most of the 90+yr olds and centenarians in my life haven't been eating a high animal sourced protein and fat diet. To each their own, whatever works for you
